Assistive Devices Program (ADP Funding)

The following information has been taken directly from the Government of Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. (

Here at Norfolk Pharmacy & Surgical Supplies we are ADP approved for walkers only.

Assistive Devices Program

The objective of the ADP program is to provide consumer centered support and funding to Ontario residents who have long-term physical disabilities and to provide access to personalized assistive devices appropriate for the individual's basic needs.

Includes any Ontario resident who has a valid Ontario Health Card issued in their name and has a physical disability of 6 months or longer. Equipment can not be required for sports, work or school. ADP does not pay for equipment available under WSIB or Group "A" veterans for their pensioned benefits.

Accessing ADP

In order to access your ADP funding you must be assessed by a medical specialist or general practitioner who will provide a diagnosis, assess your specific needs and prescribed the appropriate equipment.

Once you have been assessed and completed the necessary paperwork you can bring all your documents to us as a certified ADP vendor (walkers only) and we will supply you with the appropriate equipment.

If you need more information on who can perform your assessment please contact the store and we can provide you with a list of therapists that can do in home or in store consultations.

Financial Assistance

ADP will pay 75% of the cost or the maximum allowance set by ADP for the equipment. As the client, after you have been assessed and approved for equipment you can visit us at the store and once supplied with equipment you will be required to pay your share (25%) of the cost of the equipment and as the vendor we will submit your paperwork and bill ADP for the remainder.

If you require more information please feel free to contact the store or visit the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
